The entire context of the Satyanarayan Vrat story is that in ancient times Shaunkadi Rishi reached the ashram of Maharishi Sut located at Naimisharanya. The sages ask Maharishi Suta that what is the simple solution for freedom from worldly suffering, worldly happiness, prosperity and achievement of transcendental goals? Maharishi Sut Shaunakadi tells the sages that Narad ji had asked a similar question to Lord Vishnu . Lord Vishnu told Narad ji that there is only one highway for liberation from worldly troubles, worldly happiness and prosperity and achievement of transcendental goals, and that is Satyanarayan fast.

Satyanarayan means truthful conduct, Satyagraha, integrity. The attainment of happiness and prosperity in the world is possible only by following the truth. Truth is God. Truth means worship of God.

The story begins with Sut ji narrating the story. Narad ji goes to Lord Vishnu and praises him. After listening to the prayer, Lord Vishnu said to Naradji - O great one! For what purpose have you come here, what is in your mind? Tell me, I will tell you everything. Naradji said - Lord! You will have to pay for your sins in the mortal world. All the people born in different species are suffering from many types of troubles. O Nath! If you are kind to me, I want to hear about some small solution which can alleviate their troubles. Please tell me. Shri God said- O son! With the desire to bestow grace on the world, you have asked a very good question. I am telling you about the fast which frees a person from attachment, listen. O son! There is a great virtuous fast of Lord Satyanarayan which is rare in heaven and earth. Due to your affection I am telling you about it at this time. Good By observing Lord Satyanarayan Vrat in this manner, a person can attain happiness soon and attain salvation in the next world. Hearing such words of the Lord, Sage Narad said - Prabhu, what is the result of observing this fast? What is its rule? Who did this and when should it be done? Tell me all this in detail. Lord Shri said - This Satyanarayan fast is the one that removes sorrow and grief, increases wealth and grains, gives good fortune and children and gives victory everywhere. It is. On any day, with devotion and faith, a person should worship Lord Satyanarayan in the evening along with Brahmins and friends, being devoted to religion. As naivedya, one and a quarter litre quantity of best quality food items should be offered with devotion. Bananas, ghee, milk, wheat flour or in the absence of wheat flour, sathi rice flour, sugar or jaggery - all these edible items should be collected in equal amounts and offered. Story of Lord Satyanarayan with friends After listening to this, one should give Dakshina. After that, one should serve food to friends and relatives. After accepting the Prasad with devotion, one should organize dance, song etc. After that, one should go to his home while remembering Lord Satyanarayan. By doing this, the wishes of human beings are definitely fulfilled. . Especially in Kali Yuga, this is the simplest solution on Earth.
