Form of Goddess Katyayani

  • Maa Katyayani rides a lion.
  • She has four hands – two hold a sword and a lotus, one grants protection and one grants blessings.
  • This form is extremely radiant and has a divine aura.

Worship Method

  • After bathing, take a vow to observe the fast.
  • Offer fragrance, flowers, incense, a lamp, and naivedya to the idol/picture of Goddess Katyayani.
  • She is especially fond of red flowers.
  • Offering honey and jaggery is considered extremely auspicious.
  • Chant the mantra:
    Om Devi Katyayani Namah
  • Reciting the sixth chapter of Durga Saptashati is beneficial.
