Method of Rohini Vrat
Bath and purification: On the day of the fast, take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes.
Preparation for Puja: Decorate the puja plate in front of the idol or picture of Lord Vasupujya in which keep incense, lamp, sandalwood, flowers and naivedya (offering).
Vrat Sankalp: Take a vow of fasting while meditating on Lord Vasupujya.
Puja and Aarti:Perform Puja and Aarti of the Lord. Chant the mantras of Lord Vasupujya and pray to him for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the family.
Observance of the fast:Fast for the whole day. During the fast, only fruits or water can be consumed, but some people also observe Nirjal fast.
Reciting religious texts: Recite religious texts throughout the day and remember the deeds of Lord Vasupujya.
Story of Rohini Vrat
According to a famous story, once there lived a poor Brahmin in a city. He was an ardent devotee of Lord Vasupujya. One day he decided to observe Rohini Vrat. Due to the effect of the fast, all his problems were removed and he became rich. Thus, by observing Rohini Vrat, all his troubles were resolved and he got happiness and prosperity.
