Pradosh Vrat is observed on Trayodashi Tithi of every month. When this Tithi falls on Friday, it is called Shukra Pradosh Vrat. This fast is considered to be very fruitful for getting the special blessings of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.

By observing this fast, happiness and peace comes in married life and sweetness remains in marital relations. This fast is considered to be very fruitful especially for unmarried girls. This fast leads to the attainment of a good life partner.

Worship Method

    Take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes. Light a lamp in front of the idol of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati or Shivling. Offer incense, Akshat, flowers, Belpatra and Dhatura. Chant the mantra "Om Namah Shivaya". Recite Pradosh Vrat Katha in the evening and do the Aarti of Shiva-Parvati.
