Daksh Savarni Manvadi - Importance, Story And Worship Method

"Manvantara" means the period of Manu. In every Manvantara there is a Manu who is considered the ruler of that period and the director of the universe. Manvadi means the beginning of a new manvantara. There are 14 Manvantaras in the day of present Brahma. Right now we are moving into Vaivasvata Manvantara (7th). Daksha Savarni Manvantara (9th) is the future Manvantara, which will come after Vaivasvata and Savarni Manvantara.

Features (according to the Puranas)

  • The Manu of this Manvantara will be: Daksh Savarni.
  • The Indra of this period will be: Adhibhuta.
  • The seven sages will be: Dyutimat, Hari, Kratu, Apanamitra, Parashar, Nishchar, Drishta.
  • The main deities will be: Aditya, Vaidyut, Pratardan.
  • Avatar of this period: Sarvabhauma (form of Lord Vishnu).

Religious significance

The date of "Daksha Savarni Manvadi" is written in the calendar because it is the starting point of the future Manvantara. When this time comes, it is considered auspicious to perform special puja, fast, charity, and worship of Vishnu/Brahma. In short, Daksha Savarni Manvadi is the beginning of a new era (manvantara), indicating the future time cycle that follows the current Vaivasvata manvantara.
