Kamada Ekadashi Vrat Katha
In ancient times, a king named Pundarik ruled in a city called Nagpur. His kingdom was full of happiness and prosperity. A couple named Lalit and Lalita lived in the same kingdom. Lalit was a famous singer who used to mesmerize everyone in the king's court with his art.
One day, while performing in the court, Lalit's attention was on his wife Lalita, due to which he could not hit the right notes in the song. The king found this unacceptable and in anger, he cursed Lalit to become a demon.
Lalit was immediately transformed into a demon by the curse. He started wandering in the forests, and his wife Lalita became very sad. To free her husband from this situation, Lalita sought advice from a sage.
The sage said, "Observe the Kamada Ekadashi fast on the Ekadashi of Chaitra Shukla Paksha and worship Lord Vishnu. With the effect of this fast, your husband will be freed from the curse."
Lalita observed the Kamada Ekadashi fast as per the rituals. Pleased with her faith and devotion, Lord Vishnu appeared and freed Lalit from the curse. Lalit again transformed into a handsome human, and the couple was blessed with a happy life.
