Dakshin Saraswati Puja is a special religious ritual celebrated in South India. This puja is mainly performed during Navratri and is also called "Saraswati Pujai" or "Vidyarambham".

Method
- Maa Saraswati is worshipped on the last three days of Navratri.
- Books, musical instruments and study material are placed in front of the goddess and worshipped.
- Special worship of the Goddess is done on Ashtami and Navami.
- On Dashami day "Vidyarambham" or "Ezhuthiniruthal" (beginning of writing) is held.
- Small children start writing "OM" or alphabets on rice plates or slates with the guidance of a Guru.
