Lord Surya | Aditya Hridya Stotra
"Aditya Hridya Stotra" is a famous Sanskrit stotra dedicated to Lord Sun. It was recited by Maharishi Agastya to Lord Rama before his war with Ravana. This stotra praises the power and glory of the Sun God and reciting it brings energy, power and success. Aditya Hridya Stotra praises the glory of Lord Sun and gives spiritual peace and strength. Reciting it in front of the sun in the morning is considered extremely auspicious and fruitful.
Tato yuddhaparishraantn samare chintayaa sthitam ।
Raavaṇan chaagrato driṣṭvaa yuddhaay samupasthitam || 1 ||
Daivataishch samaagamy draṣṭumabhyaagato raṇaam ।
Upagamyaabraveedraamamagastyo bhagavaan rriṣiah || 2 ||
Raam raam mahaabaaho shriṇau guhyn sanaatanam ।
Yen sarvaanareenvats samare vijayiṣyasi || 3 ||
Aadityahridayn puṇayn sarvashatruvinaashanam ।
Jayaavahn japennityamakṣayn paramn shivam || 4 ||
Sarvama~ngalamaa~ngalyn sarvapaapapraṇaashanam ।
Chintaashokaprashamanamaayurvardhanamuttamam || 5 ||
Rashmimantn samudyantn devaasuranamaskritam ।
Poojayasv vivasvantn bhaaskarn bhuvaneshvaram || 6 ||
Sarvadevaatmako hyeṣ tejasvee rashmibhaavanah ।
Eṣ devaasuragaṇaanlokaanpaati gabhastibhiah || 7 ||
Eṣ brahmaa ch viṣṇaushch shivah skandah prajaapatiah ।
Mahendro dhanadah kaalo yamah somo hyapaan patiah || 8 ||
Pitaro vasavah saadhyaa ashvinau maruto manuah ।
Vaayurvahniah prajaapraaṇa rritukartaa prabhaakarah || 9 ||
Aadityah savitaa sooryah khagah pooṣaa gabhastimaan ।
Suvarṇaasadrisho bhaanurhiraṇayaretaa divaakarah || 10 ||
Haridashvah sahasraarchiah saptasaptirmareechimaan ।
Timironmathanah shambhustvaṣṭaa maartaaṇaḍa anshumaan || 11 ||
Hiraṇayagarbhah shishirastapano bhaaskaro raviah ।
Agnigarbho। Aditeah putrah sha~nkhah shishiranaashanah || 12 ||
Vyomanaathastamobhedee rrigyajuahsaamapaaragah ।
Ghanavriṣṭirapaan mitro vindhyaveetheeplava~ngamah || 13 ||
Aatapee maṇaḍaalee mrityuah pi~ngalah sarvataapanah ।
Kavirvishvo mahaatejaa raktah sarvabhavodbhavah || 14 ||
Nakṣatragrahataaraaṇaamadhipo vishvabhaavanah ।
Tejasaamapi tejasvee dvaadashaatman namo। Astu te || 15 ||
Namah poorvaay giraye pashchimaayaadraye namah ।
Jyotirgaṇaanaan pataye dinaadhipataye namah || 16 ||
Jayaay jayabhadraay haryashvaay namo namah ।
Namo namah sahasraansho aadityaay namo namah || 17 ||
Nam ugraay veeraay saara~ngaay namo namah ।
Namah padmaprabodhaay maartaaṇaḍaay namo namah || 18 ||
Brahmeshaanaachyuteshaay sooryaayaadityavarchase ।
Bhaasvate sarvabhakṣaay raudraay vapuṣe namah || 19 ||
Tamoghnaay himaghnaay shatrughnaayaamitaatmane ।
Kritaghnaghnaay devaay jyotiṣaan pataye namah || 20 ||
Taptachaameekaraabhaay haraye vishvakarmaṇae ।
Namastamo। Abhinighnaay ruchaye lokasaakṣiṇae || 21 ||
Naashayatyeṣ vai bhootn tadev srijati prabhuah ।
Paayatyeṣ tapatyeṣ varṣatyeṣ gabhastibhiah || 22 ||
Eṣ supteṣu jaagarti bhooteṣu pariniṣṭhitah ।
Eṣ chaivaagnihotrn ch faln chaivaagnihotriṇaam || 23 ||
Vedaashch kratavashchaiv kratoonaan falamev ch ।
Yaani krityaani lokeṣu sarveṣu paramaprabhuah || 24 ||
Enamaapatsu krichchhreṣu kaantaareṣu bhayeṣu ch ।
Keertayan puruṣah kashchinnaavaseedati raaghav || 25 ||
Poojayasvainamekaagro devadevn jagatpatim ।
Etat triguṇaitn japtvaa yuddheṣu vijayiṣyasi || 26 ||
Asminkṣaṇae mahaabaaho raavaṇan tvn vadhiṣyasi ।
Evamuktvaa tadaa। Agastyo jagaam s yathaagatam || 27 ||
Etachchhrutvaa mahaatejaa naṣṭashokah abhavat tadaa ।
Dhaarayaamaas supreeto raaghavah prayataatmavaan || 28 ||
Aadityn prekṣy japtvaa tu parn harṣamavaaptavaan ।
Triraachamy shuchirbhootvaa dhanuraadaay veeryavaan || 29 ||
Raavaṇan prekṣy hriṣṭaatmaa jayaarthe samupaagamat ।
Sarvayatnen mahataa vadhe tasy dhrito।
Abhavat || 30 || Ath raviravadannireekṣy raamam ।
Muditamanaah paramn prahriṣyamaaṇaah ।
Nishicharapatisnkṣayn viditvaa ।
Suragaṇaamadhyagato vachastvareti || 31 ||
