Hanuman Puja is performed with utmost reverence and devotion in Hinduism. Hanuman Ji, also known as Bajrangbali, Pavanputra, and Anjani Putra, is considered to be the ultimate devotee of Lord Rama and an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Hanuman Ji is considered to be the epitome of strength, courage, devotion, selfless service, and valor, and he is worshipped especially to get rid of evil forces and troubles.

Importance of Hanuman Puja

Strength and Courage: Worshipping Hanuman Ji gives a person mental and physical strength, so that he can face the difficulties of life courageously. Freedom from fear and crisis:Hanuman Ji is called Sankatmochan, because worshipping him gives freedom from fear, crisis, and negative energies. Ideal of devotion and selfless service:Hanuman ji's life was dedicated to devotion and service of Lord Rama, so his worship generates a feeling of selfless service and devotion in devotees.

Method of Hanuman Puja

Bath and purity: Take a bath before the puja and take a pledge of purity in mind, speech, and action. This puja should always be done with a pure heart. Statue or picture of Hanuman ji: Keep the statue or picture of Hanuman ji in a clean place. If you have a temple or idol of Hanuman ji, you can worship there too. Sindoor and chola: Offering vermilion and chola to Hanuman ji is considered especially auspicious, as Hanuman ji loves vermilion. Offer him vermilion and chola during the puja. Flowers and garland:Hanuman ji is especially fond of red flowers. During the puja, offer him red flowers, a garland of basil, or a hibiscus flower. Incense and lamp: Perform the aarti of Hanuman ji by lighting incense and a lamp. You can use ghee or sesame oil in the lamp. Reciting Hanuman Chalisa:Reciting Hanuman Chalisa is considered very auspicious. It describes the glory of Hanuman ji and its recitation gives mental peace and strength. Offer Bhog:Offer laddu, jaggery, or boondi to Hanuman ji. Bananas can also be offered as prasad to Hanuman ji. Sankat Mochan and Aarti: At the end of the puja, perform the Aarti of Hanuman ji and chant

Sankat Mochan Mantra or Hanumanashtak.

On the days of Hanuman Puja

Tuesday and Saturday Hanuman Lord Hanuman is worshipped specially as these days are associated with the worship of Lord Hanuman. Hanuman Jayanti is also an important occasion which is celebrated on the full moon day of Chaitra month. On this day, Lord Hanuman is worshipped specially and bhajans, kirtans, and rituals are performed. Hanuman is worshipped on Narak Chaturdashi, a day before Diwali. On this day Lord Krishna killed Narakasura and Hanuman Ji helped him in this war. Therefore, worshipping Hanuman Ji on this day gives freedom from enemies and inner strength.
