According to the Hindu calendar, the Ekadashi of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon phase) of Kartik month is called Devuthani Ekadashi or Prabodhini Ekadashi.
This date is considered the day of Lord Vishnu's awakening after four months of sleep (Chaturmas).
Under certain circumstances, when two Ekadashis occur in a year, one is called **Gaun Devutthan Ekadashi**.
