Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, is one of the major festivals of India. This festival is celebrated on the Dashami date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. This festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil and the victory of Dharma over Adharma.

Importance of Vijayadashami

  • There is a mythological belief that Lord Shri Ram killed Ravana on this day.
  • On this day, Mother Durga killed a demon named Mahishasura.
  • Vijayadashami gives the message of abandoning evil and walking on the path of truth and Dharma.
