Bhauma Pradosh Vrat is observed on Pradosh Tithi which falls on every Tuesday. This fast is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The word 'Bhauma' means Mars, and Mangal Dev is also the lord of Tuesday. By observing Pradosh Vrat on this day, one gets the special blessings of Shiva-Shakti and the obstacles related to Mangal Dosh, debt, court cases and marital life are removed.

Worship method
- In Pradosh Kaal (about 2 hours 24 minutes after sunset) the fasting person should take bath and wear clean clothes.
- Worship Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati, Kartikeya and Nandi.
- Offer water, milk, honey, Belpatra, Dhatura, sandalwood etc. on Shivling.
- Especially the use of red flowers, jaggery and red sandalwood is considered auspicious.
- For the happiness of Mars God, it is also considered best to worship Hanuman Ji on Tuesday.
- Chant Shiva Aarti and Mangal Mantra or Shiva Panchakshari Mantra ("Om Namah Shivaya").
