One day the Brahmin went to the forest to cut wood. There he saw a surprising incident. A snake was trapped under his bamboo and was in great pain. The Brahmin helped the snake and freed it. The snake was pleased and said to the Brahmin, "I am the king of Nagaloka. You have helped me, so I want to give you a boon." The Brahmin humbly said, "I am a devotee of Lord Shiva. I do not need wealth as a boon. Please give me some divine knowledge about Lord Shiva."
