Somvar Vrat Ki Katha
In ancient times, a poor Brahmin lived with his family. He was a great Shiva devotee and spent time worshiping Lord Shiva. However, the family was suffering a lot due to his poverty.
One day, the Brahmin went to the temple of Lord Shiva and prayed to him to remove their poverty. Pleased with his devotion and humility, Lord Shiva appeared before him. Shiva said, "O Brahmin, I am pleased with your devotion. If you observe Monday fast and worship me, all your wishes will be fulfilled."
The Brahmin followed Shiva's words and started fasting every Monday. He worshipped Lord Shiva methodically and meditated on him. After some time, his financial condition started improving and there was peace and happiness in the family.
Similarly, by observing this fast, many devotees got relief from the troubles of their life. It is also said that Lord Shiva blessed his devotees that whoever observes Monday fast with faith and devotion, all his wishes will be fulfilled.

Method of Monday fast
- Take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes.
- Go to the temple of Lord Shiva or establish Shivling in the house.
- Offer water, milk, Belpatra, sandalwood, Dhatura, and flowers on Shivling.
- Chant the mantra "Om Namah Shivaya".
- Perform the aarti of Lord Shiva and Read the Vrat Katha.
- Eat fruits throughout the day and meditate on Lord Shiva.
- In the evening, worship the Shivling again and take the prasad.
Result of Monday fast
The person who observes Monday fast with devotion and regularly, all his wishes are fulfilled. Lord Shiva blesses his devotees with happiness, peace, and salvation.
