Atrocities of Mahishasura and the incarnation of Ambe Mata

According to the story, there was an asura (demon) named Mahishasura who by performing rigorous penance received a boon from Brahma Ji that no man could kill him. Due to this boon, he became extremely arrogant and started attacking the gods and committing atrocities in all the three worlds. Troubled by the cruel atrocities of Mahishasura, the gods went to Lord Vishnu, Shiva and other gods for help.

Incarnation of Shakti

To destroy Mahishasura, the Tridevas (Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh) combined their powers and created a divine power. This power was incarnated in the form of Maa Durga, also known as Ambe Mata. Ambe Mata took the form of a goddess and resolved to fight Mahishasura. There was the blessing and power of the gods in every part of her body. She had various weapons in her hands, which she received from gods like Lord Shiva, Vishnu, Indra etc.
