Sun God, also known as Lord Surya or Aditya, is the Sun God in Hinduism and is considered the life-giver of the universe and the source of light. Sun God is also worshipped as the King of all planets (Navagrahas ka swamy). He is the direct symbol of energy, light, and life and is considered the giver of strength, health, and prosperity.

Importance of Sun God

Source of Light and Life: Sun God is considered the main source of light and life of the entire universe. He provides the energy that sustains the life of all living beings on earth.

Sun God's worship method

Morning worship: The best time to worship Sun God is in the morning when the sun rises. At this time there is a tradition of Surya Namaskar and offering arghya to the Sun.

Sun Salutation: Surya Namaskar (a special type of yogasana) is practiced to please the Sun God. This gives energy to both the body and mind and improves health.

Offering Arghya: To offer Arghya to the Sun God, take water in a copper pot and add red sandalwood, red flowers, and Akshat in it and offer water facing the Sun. This action is done to honor the rays of the Sun and get its blessings.

Mantra Chanting: Chanting the mantra "Om Suryaya Namah" is an important part of the worship of the Sun God. This mantra is chanted at least 108 times, which brings the blessings of the Sun God.

Special Puja and Fast: Special worship of the Sun God is done on Sunday. There is a special significance of keeping a fast on this day and worshiping the Sun God with red clothes, red fruits, and red flowers.

Aarti and Prasad: After worshiping the Sun God, Aarti is performed and Prasad (jaggery, wheat, or red-colored sweets) is distributed.
