Siddhidatri Devi is worshipped on the ninth day of Navratri and is the last of the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Her name is derived from "Siddhi" (meaning divine power or ability) and "Datri" (meaning giver), which indicates that she bestows various types of Siddhis to her devotees.
Significance of Siddhidatri Devi
Giver of Siddhis: Goddess Siddhidatri bestows eight types of Siddhis to her devotees, which are: Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva, and Vashitva. These siddhis symbolize the perfection of the soul and spiritual advancement.
Completion of Creation: It is believed that Lord Shiva attained all the siddhis by the grace of Siddhidatri Devi, due to which he was transformed into Ardhanarishwar form, which symbolizes the perfection of creation.
Spiritual Advancement: Worshiping Goddess Siddhidatri helps seekers to attain spiritual advancement and self-realization. By her grace, the devotee attains salvation and is freed from worldly bondages.
Fulfillment of All Desires: All desires are fulfilled by worshipping Goddess Siddhidatri. She blesses devotees with prosperity and happiness in life, as well as removes all the sufferings of life.
Siddhidatri Devi Puja Vidhi
Cleanliness and Preparation: Take a bath, wear clean clothes and clean the place of worship. Take a vow for the worship and worship Goddess Siddhidatri in a meditative pose.
Puja Samagri: White flowers, sandalwood, kumkum, incense, lamp, and naivedya are required for the worship of the goddess. White color symbolizes purity and peace.
Mantra Chanting: Chant the mantra of Goddess Siddhidatri, such as "Om Siddhidatryai Namah". Chant the mantra at least 108 times. This gives the sadhak mental peace and siddhis.
Flower offering: Offer white flowers to the goddess, which symbolize her purity and calm nature.
Prasad: Offer white sweets, coconut, and fruit naivedya to the goddess.
Aarti: Perform the aarti of Goddess Siddhidatri and sing her glory. Light a ghee lamp during the aarti and sing the aarti along with all the devotees.
Pranaam and prayer: At the end of the puja, bow to the goddess and seek her blessings. By her grace, all desires are fulfilled and the devotee gets happiness, peace and prosperity in life.
