Nine forms of Navdurga:
1. Shailaputri:
First day:
Shailaputri is worshipped on the first day of Navratri. She is the daughter of Parvataraja Himalaya and is a symbol of power.
Representation:
She holds a trident and a lotus flower in her hand. She rides on a bull.
Significance:
Worshipping her gives strength and courage to the devotees.
2. Brahmacharini:
Second day:
Brahmacharini is worshipped on the second day. She is the goddess of penance and restraint.
Representation:
She has a japamala and kamandalu in her hand.
Significance:
By worshipping her, the devotees get success in restraint and sadhana.
3. Chandraghanta:
Third day:
Chandraghanta is worshipped on the third day. She is the goddess of peace and well-being.
Representation:
She has a half-moon on her forehead and she rides a lion.

She has eight hands, which hold kamandal, bow, arrow, lotus, chakra, mace, japamala and amritkalash.

Skandamata is worshipped on the fifth day. She is the mother of Lord Kartikeya.
Representation:
She holds her son Skanda in her lap and sits on a lotus.

Katyayani is worshipped on the sixth day. She is Mahishasura mardini.
Representation:
She rides on a lion and has four hands.
Importance:

7. Kaalratri:
