Goddess Bhairavi, also known as Tripura Bhairavi, is one of the ten Mahavidyas. She is considered to be a very powerful goddess in the path of Tantra and her form is fearsome but at the same time very compassionate. Bhairavi's name is derived from "Bhairav", which means "fear" and "harta", that is, the goddess who destroys fear.
Importance of Goddess Bhairavi
Fierce form of the Mother: Goddess Bhairavi's form is fierce and terrifying, which symbolizes both destruction and creation. She destroys negative energies and evil forces.
Important in Tantra Sadhana: Goddess Bhairavi is considered very important in the field of Tantra Sadhana. She is called a tantric goddess and by worshipping her, the seeker attains siddhi in tantra vidya.
Goddess of knowledge and liberation: Goddess Bhairavi is considered a symbol of knowledge and liberation. By worshipping her, the seeker attains spiritual knowledge and liberation of the soul.
Destroyer of all troubles: Worship of Goddess Bhairavi destroys fear, disease, obstacles and enemies. She frees her devotees from all the troubles of life and gives them courage and strength.
Worship method of Goddess Bhairavi
Cleanliness and preparation: First of all, take a bath and wear clean clothes and clean the place of worship.
Worship material: Red clothes, red flowers, kumkum, sandalwood, incense, lamp, and naivedya (prasad) are required for the worship of Goddess Bhairavi.
Mantra Chanting:Chant the mantra of Goddess Bhairavi, such as "Om Aim Hreem Shreem Bhairavi Namah". The mantra should be chanted at least 108 times. Chanting the mantra purifies the mind and gives strength.
Flower Offering: Offer red flowers to the Goddess, which symbolize power and fierceness.
Prasad: Offer fruits, sweets and jaggery prasad to the Goddess.
Aarti:Perform the Aarti of Goddess Bhairavi and sing her praises. Light a ghee lamp during the Aarti.
Pranaam and Prayer: At the end of the puja, bow to the Goddess and seek her blessings. By her grace, all types of fears, diseases and enmity are destroyed and the devotee attains prosperity and peace.
